A big research partner in EXFILES is the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
CSIC is the largest public institution dedicated to research in Spain and the third largest in Europe. Its main objective is to develop and promote research that favour scientific and technological progress. Belonging to CSIC since its foundation in 1985, the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM) is the largest Spanish public institute dedicated to the research and development of Micro-Nano Technology and microsystems, thanks to its 1.500 m2 clean-room, with a basic CMOS production line technology, additional equipments for Si-based nanotechnology as well as advanced packaging capabilities.
